Advising Month helps students pick the right classes and stay on track to succeed!

There’s no better way for you to save time and money — and ease stress — while reaching your academic goals than by meeting with an SMCC advisor during Advising Month. Advising Month, which runs through all of November, is the ideal time to meet with your faculty advisor to review your degree audit, ask questions about which classes you should take, create a schedule and register for spring classes. Registration begins:
  • Monday, November 16, for current students with 30 or more credits, and veterans
  • Wednesday, November 18, for current students with fewer than 30 credits
Staff advisors are also available for help anytime during normal business hours at 207-741-5835 or advising@smccME.edu. For instant answers to questions, use the Advising Chat tool on My Maine Guide, staffed from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday all month. Students can also arrange virtual advising meetings with advisors through the Advising web portal page. The Advising Office is also hosting a series of drop-in advising sessions on Zoom over the coming month. The session dates and times are listed below. To join a session, click on the link of the session you want to join below during the appropriate time. These links are also available through My Maine Guide on the MySMCC portal. Upcoming sessions:
